Two extremely exciting supports announced for our upcoming shows – on October 7th Eric Chenaux will support Matana Roberts at the Prince Albert and on November 24th Cristobal and the Sea will support This Is The Kit at The Haunt. YES! We are over the moon to announce a Brighton show for none other than Matana Roberts. One of the most original voices in new music today. The gig takes place on October 7th 2015 at the Prince Albert, Brighton.

She’s created an enormous body of work including solo sax/voice/electronics, saxophone duets with Frank Anderson, some amazing albums on Thrill Jockey Records with her old trio Sticks & Stones, all out jazz orchestras with Rob Mazurek and Roscoe Mitchell, contributions to albums by Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra and an incredible trio of albums for Constellation Records (the first three of a nine album set). The band are hoping for a few donations to help finish off their upcoming album, they write:

Another new release! The debut solo album by Marcus Hamblett – who plays with most other Willkommen bands including Sons of Noel and Adrian, Eyes & No Eyes, Kristin McClement and Emma Gatrill – will be released on May 25th, 2015.

The album launch takes place on March 31st at The Prince Albert where Marcus Hamblett will team up with drummer Thomas Heather as the Heather Hamblett Duo, supporting the incredible Stara Rzeka. Details here.
