The Leisure Society, Shoreline & Kristin McClement

TICKETS SOLD OUT!

Brighton-based Willkommen Collective continues its Pavilion Theatre residency with more lo-fi, nu-folk adventures. Heading up this second Willkommen showcase is The Leisure Society, brainchild of Nick Hemming and Christian Hardy. Hemming has written and recorded music for the films Dead Man’s Shoes and A Room for Romeo Brass by This is England director Shane Meadows. He was the guitarist with Creation Records’ shoegazers The Telescopes as well as She Talks to Angels alongside Meadows and actor Paddy Considine (24 Hour Party People; Hot Fuzz). Championed by Mark Radcliffe (‘absolutely heavenly’), their wistful chamber folk was recently voted landslide Record of the Week on Radcliffe and Maconie’s BBC Radio 2 show.

Also featured is the alt-folk mothership of the Willkommen Collective, Shoreline – a nine-piece band whose left-field take on the English tradition shares common ground with US ‘weird folk’ progenitors CocoRosie and Joanna Newsom. Plus (in the bar) the spellbinding vocals and ethereal songcraft of Kristin McClement.
