SoundCurious is an exciting new event based in Coachwerks, a renovated old garage in Hollingbury, Brighton. The first SoundCurious has an audio visual theme, with live soundtracks from the likes of Collectress, Hamilton Yarns, Robert Stillman and Bela Emerson, and Willkommen’s own Sons of Noel and Adrian. The latter will be performing a live soundtrack to one of Jean Painleve’s remarkable nature documentaries, The Love Life of the Octopus.
SoundCurious runs from 10th to 11th October. More info here.

We’re delighted to announce that US guitar god Jack Rose will be visiting Brighton on November 2nd to perform with The Black Twigs at the Komedia Studio Bar. Their recent collaboration sounds to me like the best thing in Jack Rose’s prolific and consistantly awe-inspiring career, so I’m very excited about this show. Highly recommend to fans of everything from Fahey and James Blackshaw through Death Vessel and Sam Amidon via Cath and Phil Tyler… not to be missed. More details over in the monthly gigs section.

September 13th, 8pm, at Sanctuary Cafe Cella, Brunswick Road East, Hove
Whalebone Polly is a duo made up of Kate Staples of This is the Kit and Rachael Dadd of The Hand and their music has much in common with those groups – rippling banjos, warm harmonies and odd percussive interludes.
Rozi Plain has played with Francois and the Atlas Mountains and has had records released by the Fence Collective. Her songs are sumptuous and charming.
Rowan Coupland amassed a mini-choir for his last Willkommen show at the Sanctuary – who knows what he’s got in store for us next?
