Willkommen bands at The Great Escape – Sons of Noel and Adrian, The Leisure Society, The Miserable Rich and many more
So the Great Escape descends on Brighton today. This is the first time the Willkommen Collective have been properly represented, with live performances from The Leisure Society, Sons of Noel and Adrian, The Miserable Rich, Curly Hair, Laish and our good friends Alessi’s Ark and Peggy Sue.
Sons of Noel and Adrian, Peggy Sue and Alessi’s Ark play at The Duke of Yorks on Friday 14th May. Founded in 1910, it is the oldest working cinema in the UK and a wonderful place to see live music. This is a late show starting at 11pm. Entrance is free for Great Escape wristband holders but you can also buy a separate ticket for just this show for £8 from Resident, Rounder, Ticketweb or on the door.
The Leisure Society play upstairs at the Komedia on Saturday 15th at 9pm. This will be rammed so get there early.
Laish and Curly Hair play with Foxes and The Hornblower Brothers from midday to 4:30pm at the Pavilion Tavern on the Saturday, and The Miserable Rich play at Shipwright’s Yard on Friday at the Skint/ Republic of Music showcase, between 1 and 5pm.
Alessi is also playing at 8pm at Revenge on Saturday. That’s with Anna Calvi who is well worth seeing live. Peggy Sue also play at 9:45pm on the Friday at Life, with the wonderful Sky Larkin. We would also recommend seeing Polar Bear on Friday at Komedia, Seun Kuti at the Dome on Friday, Bo Ningen on Thursday at The Hope and Trembling Bells at the Pavilion Theare on Saturday.
