Since 2009 Willkommen’s ECHO micro-festival has accompanied our larger festival FOXTROT as an outlet for weirder sounds. In the past we’ve brought you the likes of Diane Cluck, Anders Griffen, Woodpecker Wooliams and many more from the more avant-garde end of the folk spectrum, this year we’re dropping folk all together and going kosmiche.
From today, we’ve decided to cease trading as Willkommen Records Ltd. Don’t worry – if you’ve ordered anything via the website it will still be sent, and we’ll still continue to release music one way or another, we just found the standard model far too expensive for the kind of music we release and its limited appeal.
This also has nothing to do with the Collective, which has always been far removed from the business side of things, and will continue to sprawl musically all over the world blissfully unaware of the world of economics.
They are premiering the new video for the SONAA track “Come Run Fun Stella Baby Mother of the World” over at The 405 today. Watch band members Emma Gatrill and Cathy Cardin tell the song’s story of teenage pregnancy through the medium of dance before descending into fits of uncontrollable and violent sickness.
The band have also announced a one-off date in London:
