Vic Chesnutt RIP
Sunday, December 27th, 2009I just learned with great sadness that Vic Chesnutt died on Christmas day.
He was a fantastic songwriter and an inspirational person.
I had the honour of play with him with my band Kopek, we hadn’t been playing live shows for long and he was very supportive. He had a great sense of humour and he was truly humble, despite having flocks of celebrity fans. He was perhaps something of a “musician’s musician” and never achieved as much success as he deserved, but I imagine this may change now. If you haven’t heard his music I strongly suggest you investigate his impressively huge and consistent back catalogue.
