New Willkommen release: Volume 1, a fourteen track compilation

Lovingly compiled and packaged, Willkommen Collective: Volume 1 is a broad cross section of the many faces of the Willkommen Collective. The fourteen tracks include exclusives from our more well known acts (The Leisure Society, Sons of Noel and Adrian etc.) as well as the wonderful selections from our lesser known bands, all in beautiful silkscreened card digipacks for a very low price. The CD is available in shops now as well as directly from us.

Ivor Novello Award nomination for The Leisure Society’s Last of the Melting Snow

We are delighted to announce that Nick’s beautiful song The Last of the Melting Snow has been nominated for the world’s most prestigious songwriting award. The song is up against Elbow and The Last Shadow Puppets in the ‘Best Song Musically and Lyrically’ category. The story is featured on the BBC site here.

To celebrate we’ve made a highly limited double A side 7″ with The Last of the Melting Snow on one side and A Matter of Time on the other, they are available in the shop priced at £4.99 + P&P. They won’t be around for long!

The Leisure Society play free show in Brighton followed by a Willkommen gig just five minutes away

At 6pm today The Leisure Society a performing a free set at the beautiful Resident Records, Kensington Gardens, Brighton. Copies of the debut album will be available along with a free Willkommen Records sampler.

After that we’ll all be heading from Resident to The Albert up the road, where Willkommen Records are hosting Eric Chenaux (excellent folk innovator on Constellation Records) with Curly Hair (members of Laish Quartet playing lo-fi perfect pop) and Redwood Red (Cathy Cardin, female vocalist of Sons of Noel and Adrian, plays her solo material live for the first time).

Both shows are set to be fantastic, no tickets required for The Leisure Society, still some e-tickets available for Eric Chenaux here or buy at Resident or on the door.

The single is now available as a limited edition physical CD and a digital download. It includes two fantastic B-sides. If you missed their BBC Radio 2 session for Dermot O’Leary on saturday, you can listen again to The Leisure Society performing A Matter of Time as well as their fantastic cover of Gary Numan’s Cars on BBC iPlayer.
